History of CSMMU Website:
The idea of having a website of King George Medical College was mooted in 1999. The then Principal of the college, Prof Ramesh Chandra, was very supportive of the idea. The task of creating the website was given to Prof Sandeep Kumar of the Department of Surgery, who had initiated the idea. He was joined in this task by Prof Rashmi Kumar of the Department of Pediatrics. After getting information from the departments and other sources, the website was compiled and finally hoisted in time for the Annual Foundation Day of the College celebrated on 16 th January 2000. M/s Auriga Information Systems provided the technical support. Periodic updations were made in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. In 2003, with Prof M Bhandari as the new Vice Chancellor, it was decided that continuous updation should be done and the website committee should bring out a newsletter periodically. A new Alumni site was created and linked to the university site. Prof Rashmi Kumar continues to edit, compile and design the university website. In 2004, M/s Marg Software Solution was given the contract for maintaining the site. The initial colour combination and look of the website was changed in early 2005 to suit the white buildings and blue and red logo.
