This annual event was organized on 31st January this year – Basant Panchami day.  Saraswati Pooja was held at the tennis Lawn which was beautifully decorated with colourful rangoli. A splendid statue of Goddess Ma Saraswati was put up on the stage. Teachers, students and employees and their families flocked to the venue through the day – most of them dressed in yellow – the colour of Basant. All the arrangements were made by students.
In addition, the Department of Physiology organized competitions for 1st year MBBS and BDS students in rangoli, cartoon drawing, collage making, mehendi, pot decoration, creative writing and poem writing. Prizes were given out by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof Saroj Chooramani Gopal.  Such events add colour and festivity to the campus and encourage a cultural outlet for talented students.

The Medifest this year was held from 14th to 16th December on the campus. As usual, this was a cultural bonanza. The entire campus was decorated. A huge pandal was set up in the Tennis Lawns of the university. Events were held all through the day. There were competitions in literary, dramatic and artistic events.  Evenings saw scintillating performances in  plays, skits, choreography, dances, music, fancy dress and fashion shows. The inaugural function was held on 14th December, at which Chief Guest was the Vice Chancellor, Prof Saroj Chooramani Gopal and Guest of Honour was Mr Chandra Bhanu, IAS. The 89th Annual Sports were organized on the 7th & 8th December 2008 in the grounds of Sardar Patel Hall. This was a colourful event with varied types of sporting competitions taking place all through these two days. The highlights of the event was that faculty and employees also participated.
