| An independent Department of Hospital Administration came into being in the university on 22nd November 2007 vide VC Order No 89/GA VC/07. The department with a post of one Professor, one Lecturer and 2 demonstrators had already been sanctioned by the Government of Uttar Pradesh vide GO No 4232/Sec 14/5-94/86TC dated 27th October 1986 and subsequently confirmed vide GO No 4974/ sec 14/5-94/86TC dated 15th October 1993. This was done with the purpose of strengthening the functioning of various hospitals under GM&AH and keeping in mind the interests of indoor and outdoor patients. The new department is expected to fulfill a long standing need to develop an efficient Management Information System and adopt means for control of hospital hazards. The Hospital Infection Surveillance Unit including Voluntary Testing and Counselling Centre (VTCT) will come under the purview of this department. Teaching in hospital Administration will also be conducted. Prof VK Srivastava presently Professor in Department of Community Medicine is the officiating Head of this new department.
