 DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY - SPECILAISED UNITS
Drug de-addiction Unit :

The drug de-addiction unit was started in the year 1976. It has indoor facilities also.

     
Child and Adolescent Unit :

First created in 1959 as Child Guidance Clinic has now developed into a 30 bedded Child and Adolescent Unit with 1 post each of Associate Professor in Child Psychiatry, Associate Professor in Psychotherapy (child), Assistant Professor cum clinical Psychologist (child) and Assistant Professor in Child Psychiatry and sufficient numbers of paramedical staff. The unit is running child and adolescent OPD clinic. The unit is under supervision of a full time professor, Dr. Prabhat Sitholey.

Rural and Community Psychiatry :

The unit of Community Psychiatry was created in the year 1984 for providing Psychiatric services in the community, especially in the rural areas.

   
Forensic Psychiatry :
The unit was created in the year 1984 with a view to deal with medicolegal and related problems of psychiatric patients.
   
Mental Retardation Unit :

This unit was created in 1976 with a provision of 30 bedded indoor care for patients suffering from mental retardation.

Biological Psychiatry :

This unit was created in the year 1986 to promote research in the areas of biological psychiatry and psychopharmacology.

 
National Mental Health Program (NMHP) at Rae Bareli, Kanpur, Faizabad & Sitapur
All above units have teachers cum consultants and required number of paramedical staff.
