The
Executive Council of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University is
the appointing authority to various
positions in the university. Faculty
and Class II appointments are made
through a Selection Committee appointed
by the Vice Chancellor usually comprising
of the Head of Department, the Vice
Chancellor and internal and external
technical experts. Appointments
of clerical and inferior staff are
filled up through the Hospital Board
of Management. Once appointed, the
inservice governance of the employee
is through the respective office,
which maintains the Service Book
of the appointee.
Interns and Resident Doctors are
under the administrative control
of the Superintendent, Gandhi Memorial
& Associated Hospitals. Appointments
of Resident Doctors is on the basis
of all India competitive examination
conducted by All India Institute
of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for
15% of the seats and through the UP Postgraduate Medical
Entrance Examination (UP
PGMEE) for 85% of the seats. All
Junior Residents in the hospital
are registered candidates for an
accredited postgraduate degree/diploma
programme of the university. Besides
these, nominated candidates from
Armed Forces and Provincial Medical
Services are admitted to certain
diploma courses only. Senior Residents
are appointed after post graduation
through the merit of PGMEE. The
university has so far not taken
residents for Diplomate National
Board program.
The nursing staff
are governed by the Senior Matron
of the hospital and belong to the
Provincial Nursing Services of Uttar
Pradesh. |
